Artificial intelligence is already in Australian primary classrooms, yet no one has shown what a primary school designed for it would actually look like, and this paper sets out to fill that gap.

It argues that AI-supported practice can take on much of the repetitive work of learning foundations, and that schools should spend the time this frees on what only people can give, teachers who know students well, sustained reading, writing and talk, and real responsibility in a community.

From that argument it builds a complete design, the ARC Day, which runs on ordinary NSW bell times so that a single class in an existing school could trial it. Written by a NESA-accredited NSW primary teacher and published under CC BY 4.0, it gives this community a concrete, testable proposal for the primary years, which almost all current research on AI in education leaves out.
