Creating AI guidelines and exploring deepfakes
Session Summary
The final session of the PRIMARAI Program guides students in synthesizing their knowledge to create personal and community AI usage guidelines. Students will develop frameworks for thoughtful interaction with AI systems, considering both potential benefits and risks. The session then introduces the concept of deepfakes – AI-generated content that can convincingly mimic real people or events. Through age-appropriate examples and discussions, students will learn to identify potential deepfakes and understand their implications for trust in media, particularly in contexts like elections. Activities emphasize critical media literacy skills that empower students to evaluate digital content thoughtfully in an era where AI can make fiction increasingly indistinguishable from reality.
